Last Shot Foundation is committed to equipping transitional youth of color with the essential life and career competencies needed to thrive on their transition to adulthood.

We believe providing a platform for our mentees to be well-groomed is essential to their future endeavors; most importantly, the impact they will make on the world. As our mentees transition into adulthood, The Last Shot Foundation equips them with the essential skills, etiquette, tools, and training they need to prosper. With our blueprint, we have strategically designed our academy to empower our mentees to discover, identify, and act upon their gifts, purpose, and destiny successfully. 

Through providing comprehensive mentorship, strategic career development, and career exploration based on the Social-Ecological Theory, we believe our blueprint will ignite our mentees to be ripples in the ocean of change, progression, and advancement. Our mentorship program is built on five indispensable pillars: Edification, Enlightenment, Empowerment, Elevation, and Excellence. These pillars steer our impact and are the roadmap to the foundations success.

The Last Shot Foundation Mentorship Services & Objectives

The Last Shot Foundation In School Academy: The In-School Academy is designed to provide High-School Seniors with In-School comprehensive mentorship on their journey to graduation. We believe Black High School seniors should be equipped and prepared to transition into adulthood successfully. The In School Mentorship Academy is a 26-week program designed to empower High-School Seniors of color to identify and act upon their dreams and aspirations.

The Last Shot Foundation Diversion Academy: The Diversion Academy is designed to provide youth of color the opportunity to be equipped with the fundamentals of interpersonal skills, financial literacy, career development, and resources to be successful. The Diversion Academy is 26-week program designed to empower involved of color to identify and act upon their dreams and aspirations.

The Last Shot Foundation Action Sports Academy: ASA Action Sports Academy is designed to expose Black student-athletes to maximum recruiting exposure. by competing on a national stage playing against some of the best Junior College and NAIA programs in the country, playing a 35+ college game schedule. We believe those in pursuit of an athletic career should be equipped with the fundamentals and skill development needed to propel our athletes to the next level academically and athletically. Action Sports Academy is 26-week program designed to expose student-athletes of color to college scholarship opportunities. 

Our Three Pillars

  • The Edification Pillar caters to the personal and professional development of our mentees. To kick-off the program our mentees are greeted with mental-health coaching. Our mentees are then groomed with interpersonal skill development that leverages their impact on the world. Our mentees engage in activities, workshops, and seminars that cater to leadership development, public speaking, integrity, and emotional intelligence. These workshops also include but not limited to employability training, entrepreneurial etiquette, conflict resolution, and personal branding.

  • The Enlightenment Pillar encompasses the foundational principles of education and financial literacy. Our mentees engage in activities, workshops, and seminars that include but are not limited to savings, banking, investments, and credit health. Our mentee also receives high-level insight that caters to the

  • The Empowerment Pillar caters toward the dreams and aspirations of our mentees. To catapult our mentees into their gifts and aspirations, we strategically design 1-, 5-, and 10- year career development plans. The empowerment pillar brings the blueprint full circle after we have edified and enlightened our mentees. Our mentees engage in activities, workshops, and seminars that include but are not limited to job placement, higher education preparedness, internships, and special guest speakers.

The Last Shot Foundation: Back to the Basics

The progression and advancement of any community are built upon the actions of its members. The Last Shot Foundation is committed to the empowerment of our communities through civic engagement and community service. We believe the essence of service is the art of sowing seeds and paying it forward. Our commitment to service will trail blaze communities that are committed to the empowerment of their members. The Last Shot Foundation provides a pipeline of opportunities for our partners, sponsors, and community to get involved. We’re getting back to the basics!

The Back to the Basics campaign compromises three portfolios:

The Big Three: Every 3rd Saturday of Each Month 

  • Environment: The environment portfolio, a pivotal pillar in any community, encompasses volunteer opportunities including but are not limited to community clean-ups, planting trees, and neighborhood beautification efforts. We believe our communities are built on acts of kindness, love, and selflessness. The Last shot Foundation takes a firm stance on prioritizing the health of our earth, climate, and environment.

  • Community: The community portfolio drives a multitude of opportunities for volunteers to serve the members of underserved and disadvantaged communities. These opportunities include but are not limited to providing meals and care packages for the homeless, adopting a family for Thanksgiving or Christmas, Holiday Gift Wrapping, Career Day Guest Speaker, and Back to School Drives.

  • Health & Wellness: The strength of any community is predicated upon the health and well-being of its members. The Last Shot Foundation believes to adequately empower our communities, health and wellness must be a priority. Our partners and volunteers have opportunities and outlets that contribute to the health of our Atlanta communities. These opportunities include but are not limited to the Last Shot Foundation Run Club, the The Last Annual 5K, and Special Events.
